And yes Hitler authorized the murder of millions with gas in concentration camps which all acknowledge to be an evil, insane travesty of a crime against humanity. It was termed The Final Solution. But lighten up Anne Frank Center! Lighten up! Spicer knew, as all who have glanced at history texts in school know, that Hitler's experience with mustard gas on the front line in WWI influenced his command to prohibit its use by German forces in battle. Yes, it is clear the bastard used sarin in the murderous gassing of gypsies, homosexuals, countless others and millions of Jews. But in media events such as press conferences, try to see a higher more charitable reality than demanding the head of someone who drew too fine a distinction citing Hitler's refrain from tactical deployment of mustard gas in battle. Unless ignorant of history, we all should know what Spicer meant and that is no disrespect or disregard for the many victims of the concentration camp gas chambers or for surviving family and friends of those so horribly lost or all sane people everywhere. This is not to argue that Spicer was correct. He was in the one context cited correct, but no excuses for forgetting the greater evil perpetrated by Hitler's thugs. Spicer the man, should be forgiven for this, Hitler should never be forgiven or forgotten. There's a big difference between the two men.
